What are you eating?

(No, this is not a diet question)

Two women went out together and each ordered a piece of decadent, gooey chocolate cake.  As they sat eating the delicious treat, one woman asked the other what she was eating.  The other woman shot her a questionable glance and wondered what she was talking about since they ordered the same cake. The first woman explained that she was enjoying her cake and had nothing but feelings of delight and satisfaction so that’s what she was eating.  Her friend could not say the same about her feelings while eating the cake for they were exactly the opposite. Instead she was eating:

  • Worry
  • Shame
  • Anger
  • Sadness
  • Boredom
  • Guilt
  • Stress, or
  • Disgust

Food should be eaten only when we are hungry and stopped when we are full.  Unfortunately this is not the case and food mistakenly becomes a temporary comfort or distraction.  In most cases, once the food is consumed, the feelings come up again and we find ourselves scrounging the fridge or cupboard once again; all the while in a vicious cycle which provides little to no relief.  In fact, overeating typically makes things worse and we compound those feelings that cause us to eat in the first place.

Hypnosis is different than any other weight loss approach for it goes to the root cause for the overeating.  Once the issue is addressed, your subconscious mind will offer quality suggestions and provide acceptable alternatives to achieve long term relief and satisfaction; the type that food never delivered. Food then becomes simply enjoyable fuel for your body without all the stress of diets, exercise regimes or weigh-ins.
